After refuelling at Amelup we made our way to the south-east along interesting, minor roads to Bremer Bay, heading to Fitzgerald River National Park. We made a quick tour of this popular seaside holiday town and then drove to the beach at the mouth of the Bremer River.

Time to head Into the Fitzgerald River National Park. The Gordon Inlet Road out of Bremer Bay is very badly corrugated. An uncomfortable ride.

After missing the Quaalup Road turnoff I decided to continue to Gordon Inlet – a serendipitous choice as later events proved.

We found a small sheltered clearing back from the beach and the inlet and set up camp for the night.

Next morning we headed further into the Fitzgerald River National Park.
