We structured our Hunt’s Furthest East Road Trip to coincide with the 2019 Red Dust Revival at Lake Perkolilli, 30 kilometres north-east of Kalgoorlie.
The Lake Perkolilli Motors Sports Club was formed in 1926. Given the limitations of the location and the development of the capabilities of motor vehicles, its demise was inevitable. However, it was petrol rationing in World War II that finally stopped motor car racing at Perkolilli. Its recent revival was not as inevitable but certainly fortuitous and warmly welcomed by the vintage motoring fraternity.
